About me…
Lisa Costin
I’m driven by a fascination with what makes us human, the ways we think, feel, connect, and grow. With a background in health science, holistic health, mental health, nutrition, and exercise, I’ve devoted my life to understanding the complexities of human psychology, our natural environment, and our evolutionary origins. My insatiable curiosities led me to create Humans by Nature as a space to share my insights and contemplations instead of keeping thousands of notes tucked away in Evernote.
Writing here is something I do in my spare time, mostly as a way to untangle my thoughts, integrate what I’ve learned, and make sense of my experiences. Between full-time work and study, I don’t always manage to turn my notes into polished articles, maybe I’ll learn to write shorter ones one day. For now, I publish “every sometimes”, and that feels about right.
Humans by Nature is a place to unpack ideas, challenge conventional thinking, and engage deeply with the human experience. Here, I share tools, insights, and conversations aimed at expanding our understanding of ourselves and each other. Life, after all, is the greatest science experiment, where each interaction, experience, and discovery guides our growth and understanding.
Whether I’m exploring evolutionary psychology, social dynamics, mental health, or the nuanced interplay of masculinity and femininity, my goal is to provide content that cuts through modern distractions and reconnects us with what’s real and meaningful. I hope this space becomes a refuge for those seeking clarity, authenticity, and a better understanding of themselves and the world.
